THE INSTRUMENT

The Great Highland Bagpipe has provided music to entertain, celebrate, commemorate and inspire people at all types of events for centuries. Variations of the bagpipes have been played by cultures all over the world, from the Egyptian and Roman empires to many ancient and recent European cultures.  Although most of these variations have all but died out, the Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe has endured and is widely cherished for its unique sound and music by people all over the world today.

The Small or Kitchen Bagpipes are just that, a smaller, quieter and more mellow sounding version which are played indoors when the volume of the Great Highland Pipes would be inappropriate for the occasion.
